  1. The event was really helpful to the area…..

It reached a few conscious artists who needed to the info and a refreshing view of things….

Big up to the record store for hosting the show…

Namasteezy made it happen and included a huge art piece that bridged the yoga and hip hop into a mission statement you could look at!

  2. The Meeting Up and extending exchange of info and admiration for our natural dyes on silk was great!

  3. We are attempting to spread a collaborative conflagration of artistic synthesis through the connective capabilities of websites such as Couchsurfing.com, Myspace.com, Facebook.com, etc.

What this group consists of is people who have free studio space for artists available at their disposal in their town.

Furthermore members of this group carry a profound knowledge of the art scene in their local city so that they can further integrate the purpose of this collaboration.

The idea is simple – we, as creating artists, are concerned with the state of art in the world as it stands now.

Many artists have a goal that is geared towards a profitable end. And while I, personally, find no problem in this for others – it is simply not the way that we’ve approached the situation.

    The concept, again, is simple.

Artists coming together to not only collaborate their artistic talents but also share the art that is created with the host that they are staying with.

In Pittsburgh, so far, we plan to have gallery exhibitions in our apartment for the traveling artists that come through. We also plan to have, at least, yearly galleries that are open to the public for trade, gifting, viewing, enjoying.

In Pittsburgh we have connections to many artists and have contacted many of them to ask for their hand in this project. They all have, joyously, accepted.

We can connect many artists in our town already including, but not limited to, chefs, poets, photographers, glass blowers, silk screeners, silk screening studios, glass blowing studios, dance instructors, painters, painting studios, painting supplies, poetry tutors, English tutors, language tutors etc.

The idea is to connect you to the artform that you want to experiment with.

For example, if a poet has always wanted to collaborate with, or write poems about, a carpenter. We can make this happen. If a juggler wants to experiment with photography, this is viable. If a painter needs models, we have this.

The main goal is to connect artists, share art, experience the beauty of creation and sharing.

We have started this project in Pittsburgh. It is going very well as it stands.

Never a penny exchanged. Only the beauty of creating and the joy of sharing your creations.

The name hayfire comes from tearing apart a metaphor. This will be like finding a needle in the haystack, only we will now have the chance to burn the hay away and come up with as many needles as we want.
